What is the easiest New Year’s resolution? Top 10 best New Year’s resolutions.

It’s New Year’s again, so it’s time to set goals and create good New Year’s resolutions for the rest of the year! Although there are a lot of funny New Year’s resolution memes…

That doesn’t mean you can’t use some inspirational New Year’s resolution quotes to help you set a goal for 2025. So here’s a countdown of our Top 10 Best New Year’s Resolutions, saving the best for last.

10. Drink More Water

Let’s kick this off with something easy you can start doing right now: drinking more water. This doesn’t have to be something difficult, like drinking a gallon of water a day. Simply switching out a soda or coffee refill with some water once in a while can make a big difference over time. Try keeping a water bottle with you at all times, and before you know it, staying hydrated will become second nature! According to some studies, you only need to drink around eight cups of water a day to stay hydrated. This may sound like a lot at first, but sipping water throughout the day can get you to this number much easier than you’d think! But depending on who you are, it might not be as easy as the next item on the list…

9. Eat Healthy Foods

We all have our favorite comfort foods, but sometimes trying new things can be healthy! Start off by swapping out one dessert or unhealthy food in your diet for something a little more nutritious. Just one healthy meal a week can be a lot better for you than no healthy meals. But do you know what might be even healthier than eating better foods? Well, up next on our list is:

8. Get A Full Night’s Rest

The amount of sleep you have affects almost everything in your life. Without proper sleep, it can be hard to do almost anything! Getting a full night's rest can be simple yet potentially life-changing. With proper sleep, you’ll be healthier and happier and find it much easier to focus on the important things you need to do. We know it can be hard, but try making changes like avoiding using your phone before bed, which has been shown to have a significant impact on your quality of sleep, which also leads to the next part of our list.

7. Less Screen Time

We get it, our phones are very important tools in our lives and can do a ton of things, but sometimes too much screen time can be detrimental. Even if you’re using your phone for something fun AND healthy, like a step-tracking app, lowering your screen time might still be a good goal to add to your list this year. You don’t have to cut screens entirely out of your life; just make sure the time you spend on them is intentional. Instead of doom-scrolling through videos out of boredom, set a timer to remind yourself to close the app and go do something else instead. Need an idea? Feel free to use the next number on our list, which is…

6. Read A New Book

If reading a whole book might sound daunting, try setting an easy goal for yourself to reach, like reading 10 new pages a day. According to some studies, reading can even lower your stress levels! Pick a book in a genre you find interesting to you, and you might find yourself accidentally going way past your goal! Whether you’re learning something new or you’re having fun reading a fantasy book, this New Year’s resolution can be an amazing goal for you to set this year. But to make sure you don’t spend all your day reading, try our next item up on the list.

5. Clean One Room a Month

If you have some messes you need to clean up, now is the best time to do it! If there’s a lot you have to do, don’t get frustrated, and just take one small step at a time. Instead of trying to clean up an entire room, just start by de-cluttering your desk or maybe a drawer. Then, slowly but surely, your entire room will be in top shape! But not all of your New Year’s Resolutions need to be chores, which is why trying the next thing might be a lot more fun for you.

4. Try a New Hobby

It’s never too late to try a new hobby! Adding a new one to your routine can be one of the best and most rewarding resolutions for you to make! It doesn’t have to be a huge thing or expensive, just something you might have fun trying. Have you always wanted to try gardening? Maybe just start with a singular plant! Basketball? Just go play one game at a public court. Whether it’s knitting, photography, or even underwater basket weaving, there’s something fun out there for everyone! If you need an idea, try using the next item on our list!

3. Meditation

For our next resolution, we have meditation! If done properly, learning to meditate can be a great way to help lower anxiousness, along with plenty of other benefits. It can help clear your mind and help you stay focused in your day-to-day life.

2. Improve Your Workout Schedule

Now is better than ever to start working out! If you’ve never gone to a gym before, check for local gyms, and find which one works best for you. Sometimes gyms will offer a free trial to see if you like it, especially around New Year’s! If you’ve already been going to the gym, take a second to think about your schedule. Are you going later in the day than you’d like? Are you forgetting to go on certain days? Maybe try changing your schedule a little so you can make sure you’re getting the right workouts in. Even if you can’t go to a gym, there are plenty of things you can do at home, which takes us to the final number on the list.

1. Get 10k Steps a Day.

Setting a step goal to reach is the perfect New Year’s resolution for almost anyone! Of course, you don’t need to start with ten thousand, but eventually, that could be a good number to aim for. You can start with smaller numbers to aim for like two thousand and three thousand and slowly work your way up to 10 thousand. Sometimes, even getting a few thousand steps can be hard, though, so if you need to stay motivated, try using step-tracking games like Stompers or other similar apps. There are tons of benefits you can get out of walking, and it’s something that everyone should be doing every day, which is why it’s number one on our list. If it seems difficult to find time to get your steps in, instead, try swapping it out for something else you do. Instead of using the elevator, try taking the steps instead! Or maybe next time you see the perfect parking spot outside of your favorite store, let somebody else take it and park farther back instead, so you’re forced to take some extra steps.
